I called up Rick after getting a recommendation from a plumber doing some work at my house. i purchased a snowmelt system from Radiantec (an online company that sells systems to do it yourselfers). I asked Rick if he could come over and give me a price to hook up the system. One of the best things that a person can do is be honest with you instead of just looking at the money that they could make. Rick told me that he wouldn't hook up my Radiantec system because it wouldn't work and his company stands behind what they install.
Needless to say, i found a competitor of Roberts Mechanical that was willing to take my money and hook up the system. Big surprise, the system didn't work!!
I called back Rick and he provided me with recommendations and a price to fix the system. Radiantec only had me put in 1/2 inch tubing in the concrete instead of the customary 3/4 inch tubing. Because of this, Rick recommended that we upsize the Grundfos pumps to accomodate for the headloss in the smaller tubing. We also maximized the output for the boilers in the available space that i had. Roberts Mechanical then spent a week at my house installing some of the nicest looking piping at my house that i have seen in a system like this. This was also very important to me because the look of the system is as important to me as the function. They put down plastic on my carpet so that it didn't leave any marks and did a completely professional job!! I would recommend Roberts Mechanical to anyone i know---fabulous service and extremely professional.
In the end, the last time i turned on the system i melted 10 inches of snow in just over 6 hours in Kamas, Utah at 6,600 feet of elevation.
They even hooked up a system so i can monitor everything from my phone and turn it on and off from my phone. I can't say enough about this fabulous company.
Sincerely,
Brent
